The Lagos State Police Command has said that none of it’s personnel was killed or injured in the communal clash between Oriyanrin and Ilagbo communities in the Lekki LCDA of Lagos State between 22nd and 23rd May 2017.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Police Command, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole in a press release made available to nationalwire, “It became necessary to make the clarification in view of the incorrect way in which the account of the incident where two brothers lost their lives was reported in some National Newspapers.
“The command is appreciative of the coverage which the media is giving to its activities, including, accompanying the police for an on the spot assessment. In accordance with the tenet of democratic policing, the command will continue to be transparent in its operations.” He said.
Commissioner of police, Fatai Owoseni on behalf of the command sympathises with families of the two brothers who were gruesomely murdered as well as victims who lost their properties. While appealing to members of the public to shun violence.
Owoseni assured that all those involved in this barbaric act will be apprehended and made to face the full wrath of the law.
