The West Africa Gas Pipeline Company Limited has committed a total of $280,000 to building a new health centre in one of its host communities in Nigeria as part of its community development. WAPCo is the owner and operator of the West Africa gas pipeline built to supply natural gas from Nigeria to customers in Benin, Togo and Ghana.
The Managing Director, WAPCo, Walter Perez, while speaking at the inauguration of the Ajido Community Health Centre in Badagry on Tuesday, said the company had invested more than $1m in brick-and-mortal projects within Lagos and Ogun states.
He said, “WAPCo’s responsibility towards every community within which it operates is of utmost importance to the organisation. This is why we embarked on a social responsibility journey in the four WAGP states of Nigeria, Benin, Togo and Ghana. Today marks the culmination of our promise to the Ajido people.”
