Fire razes factory in Lagos, destroys property worth millions of naira

A fire incident occurred at a plastic manufacturing company along Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, close to the office of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on Sunday afternoon.

According to General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), Adesina Tiamiyu, the fire incident was very severe, ravaging a company.

“I can authoritatively report a fire outbreak at Rida Plastic Industry, Oshodi Apapa Expressway, Barack Bus Stop. Fire fighters from the Lagos State Fire Service, LASEMA Response Unit, Julius Berger fire fighters, Chivita fire fighters, NEMA, LASTMA and military personnel from Ikeja Cantonment were on ground.

“The fire has been curtailed from spreading to the Cantonment and other factories around the area, while damping still ongoing, he said.”
Investigation revealed that goods and property worth millions of naira were destroyed as a result of the unfortunate incident.

The cause of the fire could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
