Bayelsa State House of Assembly aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC) for Ogbia constituency three have continued to reach out to constituents and stakeholders to micro-zone the assembly seat to their ward.
National Wire learnt that Ogbia Constituency three comprises 12 communities and is delineated into four wards, including Kolo one-three and Amorokeni, ward 9, Imiringi and Elebele, ward 8, Emeyal one and Emeyal 2, ward 7, and Otuasega, Yiba-Ama(Oruma), Ibelebiri and Otuegwe two, ward six
Speaking with newsmen during the week in Yenagoa, the state capital shortly after the submission of their nomination forms and their subsequent undergoing a second screening exercise conducted by the national secretariat of the party for aspirants, Dr Peter Isu, Dr(Barr.) Michael Priesthood and Champion ThankGod Obom, popularly referred to as 2 × 2, argued that their political delineation, ward-9 has for too long marginalized.
The trio averred that considering the number of tenures sister wards have produced assembly members for the constituency it would be politically correct for stakeholders to guarantee ward nine the privilege to produced the next legislator representing the constituency in 2027.
The assembly hopefuls contended that they have the requisite support base to win the general elections for the party, promising to conduct themselves to the expectations of constituents if elected.
It would be recalled that prior to the sale of nomination forms by the APC, Stakeholders of Ogbia Constituency three held a meeting Tuesday, 31st March, 2026, at the Otuasega Community where some party members declared their intentions to seek elective positions in the forthcoming elections.
Harping on the need to fast track development to the constituency, Dr Isu who described himself as a trained Nurse and retired Police officer promised to build a skill acquisition centre for the training of youths in different vocations, noting that it is one area successive legislators from the area have not worked on.
Reacting on the absence of a motorable road to Amorokeni community, Barr. Priesthood psaid he was recommitted to ensuring that in unison with stakeholders and Government, the community would be linked by road infrastructure to provide the community’s farmers access to markets for the sale of their farm produce and build the economy of the place.
Similarly, Champion Obom has said he he is the likeliest to win the primaries of the party to fly the party’s flag, noting that the constituency would change for the better if he is elected as its assembly member.
