The Matthew Omodayo Owotuga Foundation has committed N204 million to education and empowerment to mark the 17th remembrance of its founder, the Late Most Supreme Apostle Matthew Omodayo Owotuga.
The Foundation officially handed over the Bodunwa Elizabeth Omodayo Owotuga Hall a modern, fully equipped 30-room student hostel to the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa,to address student housing challenges.
This year’s interventions include N186.7 million in non-repayable entrepreneurial grants to local business owners to scale SMEs and create jobs, and N10.3 million in scholarships for high-performing, indigent students.
The Foundation also invested N7 million in a regional football competition to promote youth talent and sportsmanship.
“The N204 million disbursement reflects our ‘Humanity First’ principle,” said Most Rev Ap. Nelson Ogede, Chairman of the Foundation. “Seventeen years on, his transition remains a catalyst for progress.”
Mrs. Agnes Ehinmowo (Nee Owotuga), daughter of the Late Apostle and Trustee, added: “We remember him through lives changed at OAUSTECH, businesses revived by our grants, and students who can now stay in the classroom.”
Previous projects include an orphanage donated to Sacred Heart Hospital, Lantoro, Abeokuta in 2019, and a 300-seater lecture theatre donated to OAUSTECH in 2024.
