The Niger Delta University on Saturday 7th,March,2020 held its 2019/2020 matriculation ceremony.
In his matriculation remarks the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Gowon Edoumiekumo says while a total of 10,694 admission seekers applied for admission for the session, a total of 6823 students where offered provissional admission on certifying the University’s requirements for admission.
Edoumiekumo cautioned the matriculants against unsatisfactory conducts,restating that the university has a stiffer stand against indecent dressing,Cultism and examination malpractices.
The NDU Don emphasised that the institution over the years has produced some of the best graduants in the nation,saying the University has put in place all within its powers to make learning comfortable for its students.
Professor Edoumiekumo maintained that the 2019/2020 matriculation is the 18th in the series of matriculations held by the university since its inception.
“Over the years here in the NDU we’ve been ahead of many universities in the nation. Today we’ve one of the best Radio station in this nation,we’ve put in place all within our reach to make learning better for all our students.” He said.
“All our students most know that we’ve a dress code,so indecent dressing is highly prohibited in this institution.Examination malpractices,cultism are not tolerated here in this school.If you’re caught you forfeit your student membership and will even face the wrath of the Law.” He added.
Speaking with Newsmen shortly after the event,the Vice Chancellor said that the numerous academic laurels received by the institution both home and oversees in recent times are testimonies of the University’s academic breakthroughs in different sectors, reassuring that they would maintain their achievements.
