The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Abiodun Tunde for armed robbery.
He was arrested upon information received from a member of Public who reported that, on his way from Owode-Ijako he sighted two boys struggling to hijack a motorcycle from its rider and that the rider has been shot on the leg.
Based on the report, DPO Sango Ota Division, SP Akinsola Ogunwale led the team of anti-robbery men to the scene where they met the victim who was later identified as Umani Ndidi in the pool of his blood.
Ndidi was rushed to the general hospital Ota where he is currently responding to treatment while the suspects were chased and one of them, Abiodun Tunde was arrested.
Recovered from him is one locally made pistol with two live cartridges.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu has directed that the suspect be transferred to FSARS for a discreet investigation. He equally directed that the fleeing suspect must be apprehended and brought to book.
