2023: Former President Jonathan’s Son, Lamawal Indicates Interest To Run For Assembly Seat In Bayelsa

National Wire source reports that son of former President, Goodluck Jonathan, Eng. Lamawal Jonathan has finally declared his intention to vye for the post of the member representing Ogbia Constituency one in the Bayelsa state House of Assembly elections,come 2023.

National Wire learnt from the media team of the ex-president’s son’s campaign organization that he has since made his intention known to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus of the Ogbia council during their recent meeting with aspirants on the party’s platform in Yenagoa,the state capital.

National Wire reports that the statement from the media team also quoted the former president’s son during the declaration saying, “March 28th,2022, was an epoch making day as I humbly led a team of Political heavyweights and stakeholders alike of my Ward,(ward 13) of the Ogbia council area to the meeting of the PDP caucus of the LGA where I declared my intention to contest the very coveted Assembly seat for the Ogbia Constituency one(my political constituency”.)

The statement added: “But,since after the declaration,tens of thousands of my supporters have continued calling on me to do same both on the new media(Social media) and on other fora”.


“I am therefore humbled and indeed elated to cease the previledge provided by this medium to inform everyone on this platform of my decision to accept the Clarion calls earlier on me to contest the Assembly seat for the Ogbia Constituency one, Bayelsa State House of Assembly in the forthcoming elections, 2023.”

“Suffice, to add that the pressure have been en masse and unavoidable and that, I therefore have no option at this point,but to accept the call.

“To my faithful youths who have
entrusted me with so much confidence, I thank you all for the trust reposed on me and promise not to compromise with this trust for whatsoever reason.

“I believe this journey will surely end well and in praise by the special Grace of the Almighty,God”.
