12 year-old Iseoluwa, another kid star unveils maiden album

 

Twelve year old Iseoluwa Abidemi has unveiled her maiden musical album in Ogun State.

The single tracked album titled ISEOLUWA is a project made possible by her hard work, parents and Project Manager/Producer.

Speaking at a press conference to announce the work at her family residence in Shimawa, Ogun State, Thursday, Iseoluwa appreciated God, her parents and the Producer who worked tirelessly to see the birth of the project.

“I thank everyone present at this conference, I thank my parents as well for the opportunity. I also appreciate my Producer, Mr. Frank for the encouragement. I want to go far in music and I want to also excel at my studies,” she said.

The young artiste who prefers to stay on the gospel music genre continued that, “I want to show the wonderful works of God and His existence through my music. So I am not going secular because I want to sing gospel.”

“Asa and Nathaniel Bassey are my role models and I want to use my music to influence my world positively. I also want to study Law though music is my passion,” she added.

Project Manager and Producer, Harrison Frank at the press conference said, “Iseoluwa’s work has been encouraging. After the likes of Tosin Jegede and Benita there has been no kid stars and this has made the children adopt adults music. Iseoluwa is young and she needs to be promoted.”

Harrison added that, It is one thing for an artiste to bring out a work, but it is another thing for the work to be sustained. “We have been able to put things together and we have drawn a plan. She needs to be on the faces of the people therefore we want to ensure she is very busy musically we would work on different programs at different times.”

On the uniqueness of Iseoluwa’s music, the Producer  who revealed that another album is coming up on Iseoluwa’s stable between October and November, added that,  “If you listen to her first single, you would know that she is singing about God in her lyrics.

He stated further that, “Most of the songs you would hear today are either hip hop or other things. What she wants to do is to sing about and project God. If she is able to do music that is God related, then every other child would want to emulate and listen. She would be able to influence her peers and they would listen to her more than they listen to adults.

The producer also observed the involvement of music as a career which has kept a lot of idle youths busy. “A lot of youths would have gone into crimes but music has been able to help engage them,” he noted.

In his own remark, Iseoluwa’s father, Mr. Rotimi Abidemi relayed how she started out as a music loving girl.

“As a little child, she would scribble out something and with the help of her teacher she would sing it out. I always told the music director that she would face her studies so that her music and music would not clash,” he said, stating further that “There is time for music and there is time for studies. Education is first then music is a passion.

Going memory lane, Abidemi said, “She has been a singer since age two. Once she heard the Ise Oluwa tune on Channels television as a little child, she would sing along. We thought it was one of the things children do and would soon stop with age, but she continued.

“She wants to study law and we trust God. One day I was taking her to school and she said she wanted to form a band, God is blessing us with talents as our other children are also coming up. I listen to Asa a lot when I want to listen to secular music but she is going to stick with the gospel.

“The time is passed when parents want their children to stick to education alone. Education is to let you have enlightenment on want to do in life and how to address values. Parents should teach their children how to express themselves so they won’t be taken advantage of.

“We encourage parents and would be parents to allow their children to follow and express themselves. Give them good education.”

Mrs. Gloria Abidemi is Iseoluwa’s mother who has tirelessly nurtured her talents and determined to see her minister to her world.

“Iseoluwa is a talented child and we are encouraging her so that she can maximize her potentials. The commercial part can come later but my passion is the souls that she is going to touch,” she said, adding that, “We want her to touch lives to the glory of God. The commercial parts can come later, that is not the primary focus.”
