President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated United States’ President-Elect Mr. Donald Trump who emerged winner of the presidential election yesterday.<\/p>\n

In a statement from the Presidency, President Buhari \u00a0said, “As Mr. Trump prepares to assume the position of the President of the United States, I extend my good wishes to you on the onerous task of leading the world\u2019s strongest economy.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a related development, other world leaders also extended their congratulatory messages to Mr. Trump. Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Mrs Theresa May, President Vladimir Putin of Russia, French President Fran\u00e7ois Hollande, Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany, Italy\u2019s Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi Boris Pahor, and the Prime Minister of Spain, Mariano Rajoy have all congratulated the President-elect and Americans generally.<\/p>\n

Trump won against bookmakers’ calculations in a victory that has continued to shock the entire world.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, some Nigerians have believed that there would be a difference between the Trump during campaign who was volatile and blunt and a President Trump who would soon see the reality of things in a bigger picture.<\/p>
