The late former governor of Bayelsa State and self-styled governor general of Ijaw nation, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha is billed for burial 9th April, Bayelsa State government has confirmed.<\/p>\n

Alamieyesei\u00adgha, who died on October 10, 2015 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was the first executive governor of the oil-rich state.<\/p>\n

According to the burial programme released by the state government, the deceased would be given a state burial spanning four days in Yenagoa and his hometown, Amassoma.<\/p>\n

A committee has been set up by the state government, headed by the Deputy Governor, Rear Admiral John Jonah to ensure that the former governor is giv\u00aden a befitting burial worthy of his status as a revered Ijaw leader.<\/p>

According to the programme, there would be a service of songs in Yenagoa and night of tributes in same town on 7th April  to be fol\u00adlowed by a wake keep at his country home in Amas\u00adsoma on the 9th.<\/p>\n

The interment takes place 9th April in Amassoma, where a Thanksgiving service would also hold.<\/p>\n
