{"id":8735,"date":"2016-10-01T13:30:36","date_gmt":"2016-10-01T12:30:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/?p=8735"},"modified":"2016-10-01T13:31:02","modified_gmt":"2016-10-01T12:31:02","slug":"nimasa-pledges-to-strengthen-zonal-operations-to-enhance-efficiency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/sub\/nimasa-pledges-to-strengthen-zonal-operations-to-enhance-efficiency\/","title":{"rendered":"NIMASA Pledges to Strengthen Zonal Operations to Enhance Efficiency"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_8737\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8737\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/images-14.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-8737\" src=\"http:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/images-14-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"NIMASA DG, NIMASA) Dr. Dakuku Peterside \" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8737\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">NIMASA DG, Dr. Dakuku Peterside<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>NIMASA Pledges to Strengthen Zonal Operations to Enhance Efficiency<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Dr. Dakuku Peterside has expressed the agency&#8217;s determination to strengthen its zonal operations to become the centre of the agency&#8217;s activities.<br \/>\nHe said the agency plans to devolve more power to the zonal offices, grant them more autonomy and authority to handle the agency&#8217;s statutory mandate without recourse to the head office.<br \/>\nPeterside who made this disclosure while meeting with staff and stakeholders in Warri as part of his working visit to the central zone in continuation of his familiarisation tour of the agency&#8217;s offices and facilities also assured stakeholders that the Agency has concluded plans to automate its processes to enhance efficiency in the discharge of its duties.<br \/>\nHe pointed out that staff are the most valuable resource of the agency and assured them of management&#8217;s commitment to the enhancement of their welfare to engender greater productivity at all times.<br \/>\nPeterside promised that management will do all that is necessary to provide the right working tools for staff who he charged to redouble their efforts towards making the Agency a performance driven organisation that all Nigerians will be proud of.<br \/>\nResponding to questions from stakeholders, he said that peace is the panacea for the development of the Niger Delta region.<br \/>\nPeterside who decried incessant militancy and youth restiveness in the region also called on opinion leaders and elders to call the restive youths to order so as to engender the development of the Niger Delta Region.<br \/>\nAccording to the NIMASA boss, &#8220;we have a problem, the level of insecurity in the Niger Delta cannot be an incentive to economic growth.
