Agege Pen Cinema area of Lagos is a busy part of the metropolis known\u00a0for heavy vehicular and human traffic up till late in the night.<\/p>\n

Moving across the railway line at Pen Cinema about 9pm Thursday, the\u00a0busy area was almost totally deserted.<\/p>\n

While our correspondent tried to inquire, the striking feature was a\u00a0pool of clotted blood shielded with a wooden table.<\/p>\n

As the time of filing this report at a little past 9pm, activities\u00a0were gradually returning to the area as traders were summoning courage\u00a0to start displaying their wares all over again.<\/p>\n

A CD seller who pleaded anonymity opened up. “That blood is from a\u00a0policeman. He was armed with gun and seemed drunk. We heard gun shots\u00a0and everybody ran for safety. You can see life is just returning to\u00a0this area. We later saw the coagulating blood,” he said.<\/p>

Another passerby narrated what he saw.<\/p>\n

“A trailer had hit a lady a few metres away and as there was\u00a0pandemonium, later we heard gun shots and tear gas. We were later told\u00a0somebody was stabbed and that is the result of the blood you are\u00a0seeing there,” he narrated.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, traders were seen displaying their wares and returning to\u00a0their businesses as commuters who apparently were ignorant of what had\u00a0happened in the area were busy transacting their normal businesses and\u00a0hurrying to their destinations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
