According to Udoma, Nigeria must stop importing refined petroleum products in the next two years.<\/p>\n<p>The Finance Minister however called on the Central Bank of Nigeria to lower interest rate to enable the Federal Government to borrow locally to boost the economy.<\/p>\n<p>Adeosun speaking in an interview said Nigeria\u2019s foreign exchange problems won\u2019t be solved easily because of the import driven nature of the country\u2019s economy.<\/p><div data-ad-id=\"32665\" style=\"text-align:center; margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px;float:none;\" class=\"afw afw_ad_image afw_ad afwadid-32665  \">\r\n                                                            <div style=\"font-size:10px;text-align:center;color:#cccccc;\">Advertisement<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.accessbankplc.com\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"auto\" max-width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Banner-1.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n                                                                        \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p>According to her, the government can spend its way out of the recession by investing in infrastructure and enabling good business environment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we are borrowing, the interest rate go up and it increases our cost of debt services and it reduces the amount of money available to spend on capital project,\u201d she said, adding that, \u201cI think the rationale for this is the attempt to manage inflation and the trade-off for the economy now. What is the bigger problem, is it growth or inflation? For me, it is growth. I would rather seek growth. We can manage inflation and we have to have a trade-off and at the moment in the Nigerian economy, growth is the important thing, so let\u2019s go for growth, let\u2019s stimulate the economy together out of recession.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Continuing Adeosun said, \u201cWe\u2019ll lower the interest rate because when the interest rate goes up, it increases the cost of borrowing for businesses and for government.
