The Police operatives attached to the Anti Kidnapping Unit of the Zone 2 Command, Lagos state have arrested eight\u00a0(8) suspected armed robbers at various locations within Lagos State for robbing innocent Nigerians of their earnings, killing a night guard at Amuwo Odofin and breaking warehouses at various locations in\u00a0Lagos State.<\/p>\n

The Officer in Charge of the unit who got\u00a0an intelligent report on\u00a0the criminal\u00a0activities of the suspected armed\u00a0robbery syndicate on August 23, 2016 that they were\u00a0planning to embark on a robbery operation at Ikotun\u00a0area of Lagos State, swung into action with his operatives and arrested four (4) members of the gang that specializes in armed robbery, truck\u00a0hijacking, truck diversion and warehouses robbery in Lagos and some parts of Ogun State.<\/p>\n

During interrogation of the arrested four, the operatives were able get information of some of their members still at large and an additional four (4) members of the gang were arrested. Two of them are receivers of stolen goods.<\/p>\n

According to information gathered by our correspondence, the suspects had carried out a robbery operation at Ajao Estate, opposite Eleganza Plaza, Lagos on May 28, 2016\u00a0where a night guard on duty was killed and Aluminum Sheets worth twenty two million Naira (N22,000,000) carted away causing untold hardship to\u00a0many innocent Nigerians.<\/p>\n

The suspects are, Aniete Akonnah, Promise\u00a0Friday, Happiness Promise, Obi Ebong, Silas Effiong,\u00a0Monday\u00a0Udoh, Ifedinachukwu Iwuola (Receiver)\u00a0and Sumaila (Receiver).<\/p>\n

Items recovered from them include consumable goods such as Geisha, Tin Tomatoes, Maggi (seasoning), Motorcycles and\u00a0spear parts, sockets and chains etc.<\/p>

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command Lagos, AIG Abdulmajid Ali has condemned the acts of this syndicate and directed that the suspects be\u00a0thoroughly investigated and their weapons recovered without delay. Meanwhile, the suspects are to be charged to court today, Wednesday September 7, 2016\u00a0as police investigation continues.<\/p>\n
