First Bank Appoints New Chief Risk Officer<\/strong><\/p>\n

As part of its sound corporate governance drive, First Bank of Nigeria Limited has announced the appointment of Mr. Olusegun Alebiosu as its new Chief Risk Officer (CRO). Prior to this appointment, Alebiosu was the Chief Risk Officer of Coronation Merchant\u00a0Bank.<\/p>\n

Alebiosu\u2019s appointment, which is still subject to approval by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), \u00a0according to a statement \u201cis consistent with FirstBank\u2019s focus on corporate governance and best practice, and ensuring\u00a0 a balance of knowledge, judgment and experience at the highest decision making level in the Bank\u201d.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Before joining Coronation Merchant bank in 2015, Olusegun at various times, worked with African Development Bank group and United Bank for Africa\u00a0Plc\u00a0as an experienced Chief Credit Risk Officer and Deputy Chief Credit Officer\u00a0respectively.<\/p>\n

Alebiosu has over 24years of extensive\u00a0experience\u00a0across various sectors of banking and has garnered diverse hands-on experience\u00a0covering\u00a0financial\u00a0planning\u00a0and\u00a0control,\u00a0Corporate,Commercial\u00a0and Investment\u00a0Banking, relationship managementand\u00a0risk\u00a0management\u00a0which will be immensely beneficial to the Bank in his new role as Chief Risk Officer.<\/p>\n

Olusegun Alebiosu\u00a0is\u00a0a\u00a0qualified\u00a0accountant\u00a0with\u00a0over\u00a024years\u00a0post\u00a0qualification\u00a0experience.He\u00a0holds a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Industrial Relations & Personnel Management and a Master of International Law & Diplomacy both from the University of Lagos.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In\u00a0addition,\u00a0he\u00a0obtained a Master of Science degree (MSc) in Development Studies from the prestigious London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and he is an\u00a0alumni\u00a0ofHarvard Kennedy\u00a0School\u00a0of\u00a0Government.<\/p>\n

He is a member of various professional bodies, including Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Nigerian Institute of Management (ANIM) and Nigerian Institute of International Affairs.<\/p>\n
