The Command General’s Intelligence Squad of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has shut down an illegal and unregistered manufacturing company that specializes in the massive production of fake and automated transmission fluid (ATF) and other lubricants at Ponponla village, Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State.<\/p>\n

According to a statement by the National Public Relations Officer of the Corps, Babawale Afolabi, said in Abuja on Thursday explained that one suspect, Adegoke Sunday, 41, was arrested while efforts are ongoing to track down other accomplices who are now at large.<\/p>\n

\"\"Among the items recovered from the location are over 2500 (one litre) container of adulterated ATF oil, metal drums used for storage, adulterated grease oil, large quantities of chemicals used in the production of the adulterated oil, five industrial machines among other items<\/p>\n

“On Wednesday 6th September, 2023, about 1535hours, the CG’s Special Intelligence Squad, who acted on a credible tip off stormed the location at Ponpola village, Gbekuba Area, Iddo local government, Oyo State where it discovered an illegal and adulterated Auto lubricants manufacturing company.<\/p>\n

“The location is very remote and deceptive because the so-called company was located inside a residential house and indulge in the production of engine oil and other lubricants which do not mandatorily met industrial standard.”. Babawale narrated.<\/p>

\"\"The Corps PRO further explained that the make shift company is where the fake and adulterated auto transmission fluid, grease used for automobile engine and gears among other lubricants are being produced, packaged and sold as established brand lubricants to unsuspecting oil users.<\/p>\n

“In the meantime, the Commandant General Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi has ordered immediate closure of the company while the suspect, Sunday Adegoke, who claimed to be the Manager of the company has been taken into custody for further investigation.<\/p>\n

While samples of all the recovered exhibits above have also been taken and would be refered to the relevant agencies for further professional analysis”
