The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja has vowed that the troops must defeat the adversaries of our people and take back every inch of space where they are hibernating in our land.<\/p>\n

Adding that protecting lives and defending your nation are the noblest service anyone can offer, admonished the troops not to allow their morale to dwindle but should see being in the service as a noble profession.<\/p>\n

\"\"The COAS, had on Wednesday visited the troops’ after the deadly encounter with insurgents in Zungeru general area of Niger state, which led to some gallant troops of the Nigerian Army paid the supreme price in the defence of the country.<\/p>\n

Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja arrived Minna, Niger state capital, late on Tuesday, 15th August, 2023 and immediately moved to Forward Operating Base Erena in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger state on Wednesday morning, where he was briefed on the current security situation by the General Officer Commanding, (GOC) 1 Division, Maj Gen Bamidele Alabi.<\/p>

While addressing the troops, the COAS urged them to rally together and be more resolute in bringing the nation’s adversaries to their knees and restore sanity in troubled areas.<\/p>\n

He maintained that the fight against insurgents and bandits is a just cause, in defence of Nigerians and the nation.<\/p>\n

Gen Lagbaja assured the troops that he would do all within available resources to give Nigerian Army personnel and their families the best in terms of welfare.<\/p>\n

In a statement signed by the spokesperson of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu said the COAS disclosed the immediate reinforcement of the troops with additional combat enablers to enhance their operational effectiveness.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
