The Lagos State Police Command On Tuesday handed over 10 bags of hard drugs it had intercepted during a sting operation to the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).<\/p>\n

\"\"The Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa represented by the spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, briefed journalists at headquarters, Police Command, Ikeja on the 18th July, 2023 before handing over the exhibits and suspects to the agency.<\/p>\n

According to the CP Owohunwa, the Lagos Police have done some investigations into the case and decided to hand over the suspects and the exhibits to the relevant authorities in charge of combating drugs abuse, the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA to conclude the investigation and prosecute the suspects according to the law.<\/p>\n

SP Benjamin Hundeyin reiterated that CP Idowu Owohunwa is committed to partnering with the public and NDLEA to ensure that Lagos state becomes a drug free society under his leadership as Lagos state Police boss.<\/p>

The Assistant Commander in charge of Narcotics, NDLEA, Zofun Joseph Setonji expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Police Command for another job well done, adding that all hands must be on deck to ensure that “we rid the country of hard drugs.”<\/p>\n

According to him, “Today, we are witnessing another positive evidence of a healthy synergy between the Nigeria Police Force and NDLEA. We want to encourage members of the public not to hoard relevant information that woukd help NDLEA to win the war against drugs abuse” , he emphasized.<\/p>\n
