Niger State Government has given a matching order for stop and search by security operatives in a bid to curb insecurity in\u00a0 the state.<\/p>\n

The Governor, Hon.\u00a0 Mohammed Umaru Bago gave the order when he paid Sallah homage\u00a0 on the Emir of Minna, Alh. (Dr.)Umaru Farouk Bahago in his palace in Minna the state capital in continuation of his Emirates tour.<\/p>\n

He commiserated with the Emir on the recent robbery attack on his cashier, assuring him that his administration remains committed to ensuring the security of lives and property of its citizens.<\/p>\n

According to the Governor, “we are on top of the situation and the perpetrators will be brought to book. We have also given a matching order for stop and search in the Minna metropolis and other parts of the State.<\/p>\n

The Governor who maintained that youth restiveness will not be condoned in the state warned the members of the judiciary to desist from grantingl illegal bail and pardon to culprits.<\/p>

Governor Umaru Bago also disclosed that schools that have been closed due to insecurity will be reopened and the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) return safely to their ancestral homes.<\/p>\n

He stressed the need for farmers to be more committed to farming, adding that fertilizers will be available for farmers at subsidized rate and the sales will be flaged\u00a0 off on Monday the 10th (tenth) of this month.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Emir of Minna, Alhqji.(\u207f Dr.) Umar Farouk Bahago commended the Governor for his effort so far in ensuring the safety of Nigerlites, he however called on the governor to be more deliberate in taking actions that will make the state a safe haven for all.<\/p>\n

The Emir assured him of the emirate’s support to the success of the present administration.<\/p>\n

The Governor was accompanied by his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba, the Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District at the National Assembly Abuja,\u00a0 Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman Jn Gawu, Chief of staff, Alhaji Abdullahi Usman Gbatamangi, other top government officials and APC chieftains in the state.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
