{"id":73519,"date":"2023-07-02T17:14:55","date_gmt":"2023-07-02T16:14:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/?p=73519"},"modified":"2023-07-02T17:14:55","modified_gmt":"2023-07-02T16:14:55","slug":"sec-to-enlighten-frsc-officers-on-capital-market","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/sub\/sec-to-enlighten-frsc-officers-on-capital-market\/","title":{"rendered":"SEC To Enlighten FRSC Officers On Capital Market"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"H_1BObGP iz_FF\" data-test-id=\"message-group-content\" data-touch-scroll-enabled=\"true\">\n<div class=\"k_w jb_7ceA d_93qVS D_F ek_BB\">\n<div class=\"U_fq7 em_N\" data-test-id=\"message-card\">\n<div class=\"U_6MGW\">\n<div data-test-id=\"message-view-body\">\n<div class=\"msg-body P_wpofO iy_A\" data-test-id=\"message-view-body-content\">\n<div class=\"jb_0 X_6Fd5 N_6Fd5\">\n<div data-test-id=\"message-body\">\n<div id=\"yiv4726892452\">\n<div class=\"yiv4726892452ydpda0c4a8byahoo-style-wrap\" dir=\"ltr\">In a bid to ensure that more Nigerians are educated on the activities of the capital market and thereby developing the market and attracting more investors, the Securities and Exchange Commission is set to hold an awareness programme tagged \u201cInvestor Safety\u201d for the Officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps across the Formation of the Corps across the Federation.<\/div>\n<div class=\"yiv4726892452ydpda0c4a8byahoo-style-wrap\">\u00a0<br clear=\"none\" \/>The event which is the third in the series of sensitizing officers of the FRSC is to hold\u00a0<span dir=\"ltr\">on July 5th, 2023<\/span>\u00a0in Enugu, Lagos, Osun, Port-Harcourt and Benin, respectively.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"yiv4726892452ydpda0c4a8byahoo-style-wrap\">According to a statement by the SEC, the officers would be exposed to knowledge on investments available in the capital market, identifying and avoiding Ponzi schemes, the roles and functions of the SEC, Non-Interest Finance, and complaints management framework.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"yiv4726892452ydpda0c4a8byahoo-style-wrap\">\u201cThe Commission is organizing the event in collaboration with the Fund Managers Association of Nigeria (FMAN) to also expose the Officers to legitimate channels of investments and the Association of Dealing Houses of Nigeria (ASHON) to address issues that relate to investments and unclaimed dividends and other related matters.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"yiv4726892452ydpda0c4a8byahoo-style-wrap\">\u201cThis enlightenment programme is part of our commitment to developing the capital market, appraising investors of the products available in the market as well as our functions and roles in restoring investors&#8217; confidence\u201d SEC stated.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"yiv4726892452ydpda0c4a8byahoo-style-wrap\">The first tranche of the programme was held on November 30, 2022, at the SEC Head Office Abuja for the Abuja Sector Command of FRSC with over 50 officers in attendance.
