Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has described as sad the passing of a former acting governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Nestor Binabo.<\/p>\n

NationalWire learnt that Binabo, who was acting governor for a brief period between January 27 and February 14, 2012, passed on Thursday morning after a protracted illness.<\/p>\n

\"\"Information further made available to Newsmen by the Chief Press Secretary to the Bayelsa State Governor, Mr Daniel Alabrah added that Honourable Binabo had also held other political offices, including being one time Deputy Speaker, Acting Speaker and Speaker of the state House of Assembly, respectively.<\/p>\n

Governor Diri, according to Mr Alabrah has since sent a condolence message to the deseased family, saying Binabo was a grassroots politician and will be greatly missed in the politics of the state.<\/p>\n

He also said ex-acting Governor contributed his quota to the development of the state and left at God\u2019s ordained time, having battled to stay alive.<\/p>

Diri urged his immediate and political families to accept his demise as the will of God and be consoled by his great impact in the politics and development of the state, this was just as he equally prayed God to grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cIt is sad that the state has lost a former acting governor, foremost legislator and formidable grassroots politician.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one can question God why it happened. Everyone has an appointed time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI urge his family to be comforted by his exemplary role in politics and his impact in the development of Bayelsa. The state will greatly miss him. I pray for strength for the family and the grace to bear this loss.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
