{"id":73349,"date":"2023-06-27T05:41:05","date_gmt":"2023-06-27T04:41:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/?p=73349"},"modified":"2023-06-27T05:43:07","modified_gmt":"2023-06-27T04:43:07","slug":"lagos-ibadan-expressway-easy-movement-expected-as-fg-suspends-construction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/sub\/lagos-ibadan-expressway-easy-movement-expected-as-fg-suspends-construction\/","title":{"rendered":"Lagos-Ibadan Expressway: Easy Movement Expected As FG Suspends Construction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Commuters plying the ever-busy Lagos-Ibadan expressway may have nothing to fear this festive season as the Federal Government on Monday has ordered the immediate suspension of construction works along the route.<\/p>\n<p>According to the announcement, construction on the expressway resumes 2nd July, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, Olukorede Kesha, in a release on Monday, said the announcement was due to the difficulties experienced by road users using the highway in recent times.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the suspension of work was to ease traffic and help travelers have free movement during the Eid-el-Kabir festival.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspension is due to the recent heavy traffic flow being experienced on the Lagos-Shagamu route in the last couple of days, the inclement weather conditions, the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir and the advice of the traffic management team deployed to manage traffic-related issues on the project,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Stating further, he said, \u201cConstruction activities on this ever-busy and very important highway will be suspended from Tuesday, June 27, to Sunday, July 2, 2023.
