Recovering from the previous session’s loss, the domestic bourse posted gains as the benchmark index rose by 0.42%\u00a0 to close at 56,038.85 points.<\/p>\n

Renewed demand for index heavyweight, AIRTELAFRI\u00a0(+1.96%) alongside\u00a0ZENITHBANK\u00a0(+0.18%), and STANBIC (+5.45%)\u00a0\u00a0contributed to outweigh losses in GTCO\u00a0(-0.89%), ACCESSCORP (-0.40%), and FBNH (-0.37%),\u00a0keeping the market in the green.<\/p>\n

As a result, the year-to-date (YTD) return rose to 9.34%, while market capitalization gained \u20a6126.38bn to close at \u20a630.51trn.<\/p>\n

Analysis of today’s market activities showed trade turnover settled lower relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions down\u00a0by 70.64%.<\/p>\n

A total of 322.49m shares valued at \u20a65.82bn were exchanged in 6,165\u00a0deals. UBA\u00a0(-1.06%) led the volume chart with 47.13m units traded, while AIRTELAFRI\u00a0\u00a0(+1.96%) led the value chart in deals worth \u20a61.76bn.<\/p>

Market breadth closed positive at a 1.38-to-1 ratio with advancing issues outnumbering declining ones. ETERNA\u00a0(+9.85%), topped twenty-one (21) others on the leader’s table, while UACN\u00a0(-5.08%) led fifteen\u00a0(15) others on the laggard’s table.<\/p>\n
