The Agbura community of Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayesa State has commenced mitigation works for flood control in flood prone areas of the community.<\/p>\n

\"\"Speaking with Newsmen recently at the unveiling ceremony of the projects, paramount ruler of the community, HRH E.N. Daufa(Ikile VIII) noted that the projects which were funded through the community savings would checkmate flooding in the community.<\/p>\n

The monarch called on the government for support through the recently inaugurated flood and erosion control Directorate, noting that all the projects carried out by the community were funded from the community’s meager savings.<\/p>\n

Projects executed by the Agbura community to mitigate the impact of the impending 2023 floods include shore embarkment and internal roads height upliftment works, amongst others.<\/p>\n

\"\"Also speaking, woman leader of the community, Chief(Mrs) Love Theophilus said the community has supported all successive administrations in the state, hence Agbura deserves Government assistance like every other community in the state.<\/p>\n
