\nComputer Emergency Readiness and Response Team (CERRT) of NITDA has warned Banks customers to beware of Apps From Trojan, as it’s capable of Intercepting and stealing their sensitive data<\/p>\n

\"\"To this end, CERRT has reeled out some preventive measures needed for Banks customers, so as not to fall Victims of Apps from Trojan.<\/p>\n

CERRT explained that the new Nexus Android banking trojan is designed to operate stealthily, with the ability to hide from detection and evade security measures.<\/p>\n

It will be recall that a staggering variety of different banking and financial apps are susceptible to attack by this Trojan.<\/p>\n

The malware is being distributed through phishing pages disguised as legitimate websites called YouTube Vanced.<\/p>

Amongst CERRT’s outlined measures in checking the Trojan menace include;<\/p>\n

1. Avoid clicking on ads or unverified links.<\/p>\n

2. Avoid visiting or downloading apps from unauthorized websites.
\nEnsure to install Antivirus software on device.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the impact, the Trojan Apps can have when login into, CERRT informed that the App can intercept and steal sensitive data, including login credentials, credit card information, and other financial information, once it has been installed on once device.<\/p>\n

“it has the ability to intercept codes from the Google Authenticator app as well as two-factor authentication messages delivered by text. The banking malware can also delete text messages that have been received on an infected device and periodically update itself by pinging a command-and-control server that is under the control of cybercriminals”, it added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
