A police officer who had bitten more than what he could chew by brutalizing members of the public has been demoted while another was severely punished for their malfeasance.<\/p>\n

This was due to subsequent complaints and findings on video evidence widely circulated on Sunday 9th April, 2023, on social media of assault, discreditable conduct, and incivility to members of the public, at Emouha, Rivers State.<\/p>\n

\"\"Their punishment was occasioned following an orderly room trial of the affected policemen by the Force Provost Marshal.<\/p>\n

One of the victim, Adejoh Siaka, was demoted in rank from an Inspector to Sergeant while Sergeant Ndiwa Kpuebari who was also present at the scene but took no steps to discourage such inappropriate and shameful act was severely reprimanded.<\/p>

However, one Inspector Friday Obaka, who was later discovered to have been absent from the scene of the skirmish was discharged unconditionally at the conclusion of the proceedings.<\/p>\n

Confirming the various punishment, spokesperson of the Nigerian Police Force, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said on Tuesday that in addition, the three Policemen will be posted out of Rivers State to other Commands and Formations to continue their police duties.<\/p>\n
