1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>The medical outreach held in 72 communities across the state was to mark the third year anniversary of Governor Douye Diri-led Prosperity Government, as the Government had a forthnight ago launched the free medical outreach in Igeibiri community in Southern Ijaw Council Area of the state.<\/p>\n<p>It would be recalled that in the wake of the 2022 ravaging floods, Unicef through the funding of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency(SIDA) and the Central emergency relief fund(Cerf) had earlier presented medical relief materials to the state government as well as commenced post-flood activities meant to ameliorate the impact of the floods on the state, including the procurement and supply of medications and distribution of essential commodities and related items to the impacted persons and families which have recently started resettling in their communities.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Speaking earlier in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, Dr. Neni Abhorabi, Director of Disease Control and Immunization in the Bayelsa State Primary Health Board, lauded Unicef for the continued partnership in terms of medical, logistics and other palliatives, adding that such support has enable the Board to reach out to more communities.<\/p>\n<p>Abhorabi while appreciation Unicef for the collaboration thus far, pleaded for more support for continuous engagement in addressing the health needs of the people.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at Otuabula 1 community, acting Team Lead of the Medical outreach, Dr. Perebi Adama said that over 100 persons comprising of the elderly, men, women, pregnant women, adolescent, and children were treated of various ailments and diseases.<\/p><div data-ad-id=\"32665\" style=\"text-align:center; margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p>According to Adama, the medical team administrated drugs and carried out deworming, immunization, vaccination, stroke immunization while also carrying out COVID test, malaria, cholera, tuberculosis and.rapid diagnostic test(RDT).<\/p>\n<p>He noted that patients were treated of acute diarrhea, malaria, suspected typhoid fever, dysentery, hypertensive cases and diabetic related issues that were addressed through pharmacological and non pharmacological measures.<\/p>\n<p>He added that patients that needs urgent surgical intervention like Glocuma cataract and appendicitis were identified and palliative treatment rendered and subsequently reffered to other health facilities were such cases can be better handled.<\/p>\n<p>The patients were also given mosquito treated nets, soaps, detergent, diapers toothpaste and brushes as well as slippers to cushion the effect of the ravaging floods.<\/p>\n<p>A beneficiary, Mr. Isekpar Abulu described the
