In consonance with the Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba, drive for safe, secured and credible general elections as well as ensure adequate security coverage before, during and after the 2023 general elections, Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 11 Command, AIG Akande Sikiru Kayode, has held strategic management meeting with Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Williams.<\/p>\n

\"\"In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 11 Osogbo, SP Ayeni Benjamin said on Thursday that the CP Election Oyo State, CP Jesubiyi Taiwo and other senior Police officers that would be involved in the forthcoming presidential and National House of Assembly Election Security Management in Oyo State were among senior officers that attended the meeting.<\/p>\n

Addressing the Officers, he explained that the meeting was aimed at putting finishing touches to the strategies being emplaced for the maintenance of law and order during the period of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections, slated for Saturday, 25th February 2023.<\/p>\n

AIG Akande Sikiru Kayode charged the Supervisory Officers to ensure that all the Command’s human, operational and intelligence assets at their disposal are maximally deployed towards the provision of adequate security and respect for fundamental human rights of the electorate and other authorized participants in the Elections.<\/p>\n

He also ordered them to ensure that the Election flashpoints are adequately policed to forestall untoward occurrences, warning that lapses of any kind will not be tolerated.<\/p>

Meanwhile, the AIG maintained that the Police will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the Elections are conducted smoothly as expected, under an atmosphere of peace, security and safety of the citizenry.<\/p>\n

He, therefore, urged all and sundry in the State to remain vigilant, law-abiding and supportive as more personnel and logistics will be deployed from Zone 11 Command headquarters to support the command.<\/p>\n
