Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, has described the Governor of the Year Award conferred on the state Governor, Senator Douye Diri by the Daily Sun Newspapers as a true reflection of his scorecard of stewardship to the Government and people of the State.<\/p>\n

\"\"In a congratulatory message released by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mr Doubara Atasi, at the weekend, the Deputy Governor extolled the leadership qualities of his boss, describing him as a God-fearing, focused and prudent manager of resources.<\/p>\n

He commended Governor Diri for making the state proud, noting that the Award would serve as a great source of motivation to spur not only the Governor, but the entire Prosperity Team to put in more effort towards building a better Bayelsa.<\/p>\n

\"\"According to Senator Ewhrudjakpo, the footprints of the Prosperity Administration are visible in the spheres of human capital development, women and youth economic empowerment as well as infrastructural development.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that as an astute administrator who had worked closely with past leaders, the Governor is providing the kind of leadership needed to actualize the dreams and aspirations of the founding fathers of the state.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the Governor’s scorecard, Senator Ewhrudjakpo said several people-oriented projects including roads and bridges had already been completed unsung, while others are ongoing.<\/p>\n

He further noted that, the present administration’s unparalleled investments in sports has catapulted Bayelsa to a higher rung on the ladder of sports development in the comity of states in Nigeria.<\/p>

While thanking the Management and Staff of The Sun Newspapers for honouring Governor Diri with the Award, the Deputy Governor prayed God to bless him with sound wisdom and divine protection to fully accomplish the mandate thrust on him by the people of the state.<\/p>\n

He said: “Your Excellency, it is remarkable that this Governor of the Year award from the reputable Sun Newspapers climaxes with your third anniversary in office, which is a few days away.<\/p>\n
