Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Siri, has urged the people of the state to vote massively for all candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to ensure landslide victory for the party in the forthcoming general elections.<\/p>\n

\"\"He said a vote for the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state is tantamount to endorsing the woeful performance of the party at the center.<\/p>\n

Governor Diri stated this at the weekend at the Government House Gate in Yenagoa while addressing a large number of members of the Ward To Ward For Diri\/Lawrence sociopolitical group who paid him a solidarity visit.<\/p>\n

Represented by his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, the Governor stressed that no person who truly loves Nigeria will vote for the APC considering its record breaking unimpressive performance in the last seven years.<\/p>\n

Emphasizing that the ruling party in the country can no longer be trusted with political power, he urged the group to work for the success of the PDP at all levels.<\/p>\n

According to the Bayelsa helmsman, his administration has made giant strides in infrastructural development, education, security, sports and virtually all sectors of the economy.<\/p>\n

This, he said was made possible because of his preparedness for governance and the continued support from all well meaning Bayelsans.<\/p>\n

The Governor noted that when campaign begins for the state governorship election, the PDP will campaign with the achievements his administration has recorded so far, rather than engage in insults and name calling.<\/p>

Senator Diri, who expressed appreciation to the group for their show of support to his administration, saying the gesture would spur him to do more for the state.<\/p>\n

He said: “You have just sent a message to the governor and this your mobilization is like testing the microphone for what will come on Monday, which is a day for rally. You have really showed that you are on ground.<\/p>\n

“I want to thank you people very well for this show of solidarity. Governor Douye Diri was very prepared to govern this state, that’s why we are doing well.<\/p>\n

“We will not insult people during our campaign, we will campaign with what we have done. Bayelsa State has made tremendous progress in infrastructure, sports, education and other sectors and indeed, one good tenure deserves another.<\/p>\n

“I will deliver your message to Governor Diri and it won’t be long before you get a response . APC has destroyed Nigeria and cannot be trusted by Nigerians. It cannot be trusted with power in this country. So,vote for the PDP at all levels.”<\/p>\n

Earlier, Director General of the Ward To Ward for Diri\/Lawrence, Mr. Ogidi Bara Ben, said they were satisfied with the performance of the Prosperity Administration in different areas, particularly the impressive progress being made in the construction of the Bayelsa Central Senatorial Road.<\/p>\n

Consequently, he said the group has unanimously decided to mobilize massively for the re-election of Governor Diri and his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, and called on them to declare for a second tenure without any delay.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
