Kusherki Community in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, has\u00a0 cried out to the State government to as a matter of urgency come to their aid and rescue their children 21 days after being abducted by bandits from their farms in Kusherki village.<\/p>\n

In a telephone interview with National Wires a community leader, Malam\u00a0 Awwalu Usman, said that about 20 of their children in Kusherki village were forcefully abducted while attending to their community farms by some gunmen suspected to be bandits that came in their hundreds, wielding dangerous and sophisticated weapons, threatening to shoot any child that tries to escape.<\/p>\n

A week after the abduction, the kidnappers contacted some families of the kidnapped children demanding for N40 million\u00a0 ransome before they can be released.<\/p>\n

Out of the 20 children abducted, only four were males, the rest were females, explained the community leader, while in tears, adding that their ages range from four to seven years.<\/p>\n

Banditry and kidnap for ramsom have become rampant in the state especially in Rafi, Shiroro and Munya local government areas of the state.<\/p>\n

It was reported on Wednesday\u00a0 that tens and hundreds of bandits were seen crossing along Zungeru-Garin Gabas in wushishi and Rafi Local Governement Areas of the state, which distrupted vehicular movement along the road.<\/p>

The community has however, made a passionate appeal to all well- meaning sons and daughters of Kagara Emirate as well as the state government, under the leadership of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, to assist in whatever ways and means, to rescue their wards.<\/p>\n

When National Wires contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, Niger State Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun on the matter, he said that he was not aware because there was no official report from the area to that effect\u00a0 but he promised to contact the DPO Kagara Division and get back to this reporter.<\/p>\n
