is working with stakeholders to create a Coordinated Care Mechanism (CCM) for survivors of human trafficking in Edo.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">The Executive Director, PJI, Ruth Benson-Idahosa, said this\u00a0 on the sideline of a Stakeholders\u2019 Roundtable on \u201cEnhancing Civil Society Organisation (CSO) Coordination for Trafficking Survivors\u201d.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Benson-Idahosa said that with CCM, support for survivors of human trafficking would be well tailored, monitored efficiently and coordinated.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-62882 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/IMG-20220724-WA0000-1-1-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">She said that coordinated support for trafficked survivors would tackle the challenge of discrimination against some survivors.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\u201dThe issue where some survivors don\u2019t benefit from certain support while others benefit from different interventions will be resolved.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\u201cStakeholders are trying to provide services for returnees and survivors of trafficking but we are doing without coordination, so the efforts being put are disaggregated.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\u2018This programme is to create a system that is similar to our national mechanism but for local Edo service providers so that we are coordinated, transparent and efficient in the way we care for survivors,\u201d she said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">The Permanent Secretary, Edo Ministry of Gender and Social Development, Mrs Barbara Osobajo, stated that creating CCM was laudable and needed to have a functional support system for survivors of human trafficking.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-62883 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/IMG-20220724-WA0000-4-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Represented by Mrs Joy Ihensekhien, the Director, Gender in the ministry, Osobajo said that the referral mechanism component of CCM would reduce duplication of efforts and ensure continuity of support.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">CCM is part of the Justice Project geared toward strengthening and enhancing the network and coordination of CSOs, to better serve survivors of sex trafficking.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">The project is supported by PJI, Ambassador De France Au Nigeria\u00a0 and
