Worried by the unpleasant situation and the inconveniences it\u2019s customers are experiencing as result of the vandalised Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, tower, the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution (PHED) Plc says it is collaborating with the TCN to rebuild the tower vandalised at Odukpani\/Ikot Ekpene and Oku Iboku in ITU Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.<\/p>\n

The TCN Tower, T104 330KV was vandalised about two weeks ago by some unpatriotic, unscrupulous and criminally minded persons.<\/p>\n

Since the tower was vandalised, PHED has been worse hit by the resultant power disruption that affected its esteemed customers.<\/p>\n

It will be recalled that the disruption in power supply caused by the vandalised tower left the entire Calabar metropolis, other parts of Cross River State and Ebonyi State in complete darkness.<\/p>

Consequent upon this development, the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Plc decided to support the efforts of TCN to ensure that power supply is quickly restored to its affected customers.<\/p>\n

Although, the TCN had awarded the job to a contractor for the collapsed tower to be erected, the PHED technical team moved in to combine resources with them to ensure that the pace of work is accelerated for early completion of the work.<\/p>\n

This move by PHED may have been informed by the need to quickly restore power and alleviate the extremely difficult situation that the vandals had subjected the good people of Cross Rivers State to, by their act of vandalism.
