In a bid to ensure an effective crime fighting mechanism, the Governor of Ogun State Prince Dapo Abiodun has relaunched Operation MESA (OP MESA), a joint security outfit to make Ogun State unhabitable for criminals.<\/p>\n

Governor Abiodun while inaugurating the OP MESA at the Arcade Ground of the Governor\u2019s Office Oke Mosan assured the people that the members of the outfit would be picked to ensure they have the right discipline as well as ensure that they are committed to their assignment.<\/p>\n

The Governor relaunched OP MESA outfit with 15 vehicles, two armoured personnel carriers and communication equipment. He said more would be added on quarterly basis until the outfit is well equipment logistically.<\/p>\n

Gov Dapo enjoined the people of the State to take ownership of the outfit by collaborating with the personnel of the outfit for a more secured state. He further added that his administration was able to reactivate the outfit through a presidential consent.<\/p>\n

He stated that the outfit would benefit from the support of the security trust fund through donations and contributions from the government and private sector.<\/p>

Earlier, in his remarks the General Officer Commanding 81 Division Major General Lawrence Fejokwu commended the Ogun State Governor for activating the outfit and providing them with the necessary equipment.<\/p>\n

He said he has no doubt that the State would become more secured with the support of the Governor. In a similar vein, the Commissioner of Police Ogun State, Mr Lanre Bankole while noting that the equipment was another example of support that would enable them to discharge their duties, accordingly pledged to make best use of the equipment.<\/p>\n

Also, the Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo while appreciating the Governor for putting more effort at maintaining the position of the state as the safest in the country, called on the people to support the outfit by not hiding useful information.<\/p>\n

The Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi in his welcome address said the issue of effective security arrangement is germane to the current administration.<\/p>\n

He stressed that the existing peace and tranquility being enjoyed in the state was as a result of the formidable security arrangement put in place by the State Government.
