The Peoples Democratic Party( PDP)\u00a0 has emphatically and unequivocally stated\u00a0 that it has not zoned it’s\u00a0 Presidential ticket to any part of the country, against the forthcoming general elections in the country in the year 2023.<\/p>

The Party,\u00a0 also\u00a0 described as\u00a0 completely misleading the claims by some individuals within the Party claiming that the PDP has zoned it’s Presidential ticket in the forthcoming 2023 general elections to a particular part of the country, saying, “such claims does not in any way represent the position of the Party”.<\/div>\n

The PDP made the clarrififactions\u00a0 in a Press statement signed and made available to the newsmen on Saturday by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Debo Ologunagba.<\/div>\n

He stated further\u00a0 that\u00a0 some statements credited to certain\u00a0 individuals within the party that the PDP has zoned it’s Presidential ticket to a particular part of the country against the forthcoming 2023 general polls in the country\u00a0 as\u00a0\u00a0completely misleading, stressing,\u00a0 that\u00a0 “it does not in any way represent the position of our Party”.<\/div>\n

The statement noted with dismay that “the attention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been drawn to comments and speculations from certain individuals claiming that our Party has zoned its Presidential ticket to a particular part of the country”.According to the statement, “The PDP is a Political Party founded on democratic principles and every action of the Party, including zoning, is based on extensive consultations, discussions and consideration of all the issues as well as the various tendencies and interests across the nation, with the main objective of ensuring that the unity, peaceful co-existence and development of our nation are reinforced and promoted”.<\/p>\n

The statement therefore urged\u00a0 Nigerians, particularly, the Party’s teeming members and supporters to completely disregard the unfounded zoning claims as being peddled, saying, “Our Party also cautions those behind the claims to desist forthwith”.<\/div>\n
