After being held captive for\u00a0 more than 100 days by their abductors in their hideouts , some 28 persons recently abducted\u00a0 from communities in Rafi local government area of Niger state have\u00a0 regained their freedom on Wednesday .<\/p>\n

The victims were however said to have been set free after their relations allegedly\u00a0 \u00a0paid over N18million\u00a0 ransom to the kidnappers, as\u00a0 each of the victims relations\u00a0 have allegedly\u00a0 paid\u00a0 not less than about N600,000.<\/p>\n

National Wires gathered\u00a0 that the released abuctees were conveyed in a commercial vehicle from the Zamfara and Kaduna States borders\u00a0 and dropped at Doka village in Kaduna state by their abductors from where they were said to have\u00a0 trekked on foot for several kilometers through the bush to the main road.<\/p>\n

\nIt was further\u00a0 learnt that the relations of the freed abductees took them over at the main road.<\/p>

It was jubilation galore in Kagara town headquarters of Rafi local government area of Niger State\u00a0 when 10 of the released victims who were Christians arrived at their Church premises .<\/p>\n

When contacted the Commissioner of Police,\u00a0 Niger State\u00a0 Commissioner CP. Monday Bala Kuryas confirmed the incident, stresdiinh that the victims were released after \u201cSerious dialogue\u201d with their abductors\u00a0 and most probably because of the heat from the military and police operations\u00a0 in the area was getting too hot for the kidnappers.<\/p>\n

Bala Kuryas however stated that he cannot confirm if the abductees’ relations and friends paid any ransom to the the bandits to facilitate their release but added that \u201d I heard something like that\u201d.<\/p>\n

However, on Wednesday\u00a0 gunmen suspected to be armed bandits were said to have resumed their operations in the Wushishi and Bosso local government areas of the state\u00a0 following the Kidnapped of three Chinese nationals, while at least three Nigerians working at the Zungeru Hydro Electric Dam, lost their lives after sustaining serious gun shots injuries.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
