In its effort to maintain efficient service delivery and reduce the number of people who had applied for international passport in its Lagos offices, the headquarters of Nigeria Immigration Service in Abuja has deployed a special taskforce to Lagos to clear all backlog of applications in its offices across Lagos State.<\/p>\n

The strategic move by the service was disclosed to Journalists at the weekend by the Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration, ACG O. A Talabi the head of Nigeria Immigration Service headquarters in Lagos.<\/p>\n

According to her, the special taskforce will begin the operation at its Ikoyi office where majority of applicants had already applied for their passports.<\/p>

She also confirmed that about 25,000 Passports are yet to be collected by applicants accross its offices in Lagos State.<\/p>\n

As a result, she has advised those seeking for International passport to approach other offices at Alausa and Festac Town in the state in order to reduce the number of applicants coming to its Ikoyi office.<\/p>\n

She further urged applicants to apply for passport through its online Servicom platform and desist from giving money to touts while seeking for passport.<\/p>\n

According to her the present regime of the Service have made fresh innovation by providing a column in the passport to connect applicants National Identification Numbers (NIN) in line with Federal Government drive to improve on its security drive accross globe.<\/p>\n
