The 57th conference and Scientific workshop of the Association of Medical Laboratories Scientists of Nigeria(AMLSN) is currently ongoing in Yenagoa, capital of Bayelsa state.<\/p>\n

The event which began Thursday is expected to come to a close Sunday.<\/p>\n

National Wire reports that the event which have had in attendance Medical Lab Scientist from the 36 States of the Nigeria and participants from other neighbouring African nations is focused on discussing and preferring solutions to contemporary issues in the profession.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Newsmen shortly after delivering his keynote address,national President of the Association, Prof. James Damen commended members for their undying spirit in maintaining ethical standards of the profession in their various duty posts.<\/p>\n

He noted that upon the outbreak of the novel Covid-19 pandemic, members of the profession were in the fore front of the fight against the deadly virus.<\/p>

Damen called on the government and to cillaborate with the Association towards equipping the health facilities in the nation with modern infrastructure needed for scientific breakthrough in the health sector of the country.<\/p>\n

Also speaking,Chairman of the local organizing committee, AMLSN.Eunice Suoteigha George said the success of the event was attributed to the peace and tranquility in the state.<\/p>\n

Mrs Suoteigha George who also doubles as the branch chairman of the association at the Federal Medical Centre,Yenagoa(FMC) thanked members of the association for attending the conference and Scientific workshop en masse.<\/p>\n

She described AMLSN as the bedrock of the health care industry,just as she rated Bayelsa high on the training of members of the Association in the tertiary institutions of the state as well as the setting up of the state own molecular laboratory for timely investigation of diseases.<\/p>\n

The Association, national wire learnt would issue out a communiqu\u00e9 at the end of the event.<\/p>\n
