The Anambra State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Vincent Ogu on Friday cautioned officers and men of Intelligence and Investigation Departments of the Command to put more effort in the area of Intelligence gathering from the civil populace for greater efficiency.<\/p>\n

In that regards, he warned them against indolence, complacency, and negligence in the discharge of their onerous duties.<\/p>\n

Ogu spoke in Awka today during a meeting with all the Intelligence and Investigation Officers in the three Area Commands and the 21 Local Government Areas of the State.<\/p>\n

He charged them to be proactive in carrying out their duties considering the relative advantage NSCDC has as a grassroot security outfit.<\/p>\n

While acknowledging the sacrifices made by some of them for the relative peace and security in the State, he stressed that the Corps will soon appreciate and reward deserving personnel.<\/p>

Comdt. Ogu reaffirmed the Command’s support and protection of both lives of Anambrarians and residents alike and Government’s Critical National Assets and Infrastructures.<\/p>\n

He appealed to Anambrarians and residents alike to support and volunteer information to the Corps that could lead to arrest and prosecution of offenders in the collective fight against crimes and criminality in Anambra State.<\/p>\n

In another development,A Commandant Ogu has expressed its commitment to protect Critical National Assets and Infrastructure of JAMB and to provide adequate security during and after Unified Tertiary Marticulation Examination (UMTE) to curtail examination malpractice across the State.<\/p>\n

He made the pledge when he received in audience the State Coordinator of Joint Admission and Marticulation Board (JAMB), Anambra State, Mrs Karen Gar on Friday at the Command Headquarters Awka.<\/p>\n

Mr. Ogu appreciated the Synergy between NSCDC and JAMB which had been long-standing in curbing the menace of examination malpractices, illegal registration centres and in apprehending syndicates exploiting candidates registering for the examination, promising to continue with the partnership.<\/p>\n

The State Coordinator, Mrs Karen Gar commended the NSCDC for collaborating with JAMB, and appreciated the discipline and tactful display of efficiency by Officers and Men of the Corps during Unified Marticulation Tertiary Examination period.<\/p>\n
