Personnel of Operation Hadin Kai of the Nigerian Army serving in Maiduguri on Sunday arrested a suspected Police Sergeant identified as Ebenezer Ojeh with hundreds of ammunitions and grenade in Borno state.<\/p>\n

The Sergeant was said to have been intercepted at a checking point by the troops of 154 Task Force Battalion Ngamdu, along Maiduguri- Damaturu road, led by the Acting Commander Major D.Y Chiwar.<\/p>\n

According to Intelligence reports, it was learnt that “The suspects with NPF No: 456647, boarded a Borno Express bus to Nigeria\u2019s capital, Abuja when they arrived at the checking point. While the vehicle was waiting for its turn to be passed at the checking Point, the suspect dropped from the bus and claimed he wanted to ease himself.<\/p>\n

“This elicited suspicion from the Commander who directed the troops to search the suspect’s bag.<\/p>

“On searching the bag, about 220 quantity rounds of 7.62mm Special, 1\u00d7 hand grenade, a dagger and other items were discovered.<\/p>\n

Confessing shortly after arrest, Sgt Ojeh claimed he was a personnel from the Police Unit Special Weapon Tactical Team (SWAT), from the Mobile Police Force 19 Unit, River State.<\/p>\n

After preliminary investigation, the suspect and the recovered ammunitions and other items were handed over to the Headquarters, Sector 2, Operation Hadin Kai for further investigation and necessary action.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
