{"id":50734,"date":"2021-07-23T23:51:02","date_gmt":"2021-07-23T22:51:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/?p=50734"},"modified":"2021-07-23T23:51:02","modified_gmt":"2021-07-23T22:51:02","slug":"court-dashes-ex-banker-wife-mother-in-law-60-years-for-stealing-depositors-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/sub\/court-dashes-ex-banker-wife-mother-in-law-60-years-for-stealing-depositors-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"Court Dashes Ex-banker, Wife, Mother\u2013In-Law 60 Years For Stealing Depositors\u2019 Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Okosun Dennis<\/p>\n<p>A former bank cashier, Ebenezer Adeolu Alonge alongside his wife, Isakunle Olamide Oyinlola and his mother-in- law, Isakunle Eunice Moradeke were on Friday, July 23, 2021 convicted and sentenced to 60 years imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>They were handed the sentence by Justice Adekanye Ogunmoye of Ekiti State High Court, Ado Ekiti on a 12-count charge of conspiracy and stealing contrary to section 390(9) of the Criminal Code Laws Cap 16 Laws of Ekiti State, 2012 brought against them by the Ibadan Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC).<\/p>\n<p>Justice Ogunmoye, in his judgement, ruled that the prosecution team led by Abdulrasheed Lanre suleiman proved their case beyond reasonable doubt and that the convicts had failed to extricate themselves from the self-evidenced proofs before the court.<\/p>\n<p>EFCC, in the course of trial, called two witnesses and tendered several exhibits to prove their case.<\/p>\n<p>The convicts were found guilty on all 12 count charges and sentenced to five years on each count.
