A Lagos resident, Dr. Olufemi Emmanuel told NATIONAL WIRE that the situation has been calm since early morning.

“Traffic from Command Road to Ojuelegba via Iyana Ipaja is relatively free. The only trouble-looking spot is the Police station at Abesan Gate (Area P) where a fairly large number of Policemen gathered in camouflage uniform,” he said.

Stating further, he said, “The same atmosphere was at Iyana Iyana where a larger number Policemen early Saturday gathered in their camouflage.”

He traveled through the ever-busy Ikorodu road and also stated that, it was a bit tense on the axis known over the decades for pandemonium during demonstrations.

“At Fadeyi, the atmosphere was a bit tense, as miscreants and area boys appeared to be lurking around. Passengers were stranded at various bus stations but generally speaking, the atmosphere in Lagos this morning is relatively peaceful as far as Ipaja Command to Ojuelegba road is concerned.”

Other residents around the metropolis who were earlier worried are now going about their legitimate activities without fear of intimidation or harassment.

At Ogba area of Ifako Ijaiye Local Government Area, the situation is equally calm as people resumed normal activities early Saturday morning.

In Alimosho area, the situation is peaceful as well and normal activities are ongoing though residents are a bit careful.
