In its desperate attempt to ensure that criminal elements are obliterated in Delta State and galvanise economic prosperity, the police command on the 6th June, 2021 about 2145hrs, while acting on a distressed call from an unknown caller that four armed men, suspected to be kidnappers shot sporadically at Biokoro extension and kidnapped one Efe Caroline, a female 38 years old.<\/p>\n

The operation led by the Divisional Police Officer, Orerokpe division got to the scene and sighted the hoodlums and subsequently gave them a hot chase while at the same time engaged them in a shootout within Okujorogun Community.<\/p>\n

As a result, they were overwhelmed by the superior fire power leading to the abandonment of the the victims while the hoodlums fled. However, a manhunt for the hoodlums is ongoing with a view to arresting them.<\/p>\n

In another development, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ali’s order mandating the Commander State Anti-cult unit (SACU), SP Christopher Igbaji to relocate to Ogwashi-uku and bring an end to the cult crisis in the area has started yielding result.<\/p>\n

Based on intelligence, it was revealed that there was a house at Azungu Quarters Ogwashi-Uku, where cultists usually converge and plan how to attack their fellow cult rivals.<\/p>\n

However, on the 6th June, 2021 about 2130hrs, the Commander SACU mobilized a combined team of Delta state anti-cult unit (SACU) in conjunction with Special Tactical Squad (STS) attached to Delta Command and stormed the hideout and arrested three suspects.<\/p>\n

The suspects were identified as Lucky Nwose \u2018m\u2019 23 years old, Somto Azubuike \u2018m\u2019 18 years old and Omali Maxwell \u2018m\u2019 18 years old, all members of Supreme Vikings Confraternity aka ARO BAGGER.<\/p>

Recovered from them included one English automatic pump action gun loaded with two live cartridges.<\/p>\n

Also, a routine patrol, stop and search including pin down have yielded result and police proactivity in Delta state command has continue to pay off in the fight against criminals in the state.<\/p>\n

As a resilt, on the 28th May, 2021 about 0930hrs, police operative of the Divisional Quick Response team attached to \u2018A\u2019 Division Warri on routine patrol at Ugbuangue community sighted a young man in a suspicious manner, when the team approached the said suspect, he hurriedly abandoned his hand bag and took to his heels.<\/p>\n

After conducting search on the bag, one locally made cut-to-size double barrel gun was found in it. On suspicion that the suspect might come back to carry his weapon, the team laid ambush in the bush, after a short while the said suspect resurfaced with the intention of collectinv the bag and was apprehended.<\/p>\n

The suspect identified as Joshua Godwin \u2018m\u2019 28 years old is under investigation how he got the arms.<\/p>\n

The police also arrested a motorcyclist who was sighted about 1030hrs, by Eagle-Net patrol team while on patrol along Koka Ibusa expressway.<\/p>\n

The suspicious motorcyclist who was making calls when the team intercepted him was subjected to a thorough search was leading to the recovery of a locally made pistol.<\/p>\n

The suspect identified as Solomon Omachonu \u2018m\u2019 27 years of Igbedo community Nzam Olumbanasa Anambra West Local government of Anambra State but residing at Amusement Park in Koka area of Asaba was arrested.<\/p>\n

Other exhibits recovered includes, army colour face cap, a camouflage army colour belt and wrist watch with unregistered motorcycle.<\/p>\n
