… Causes Pandemonium, Gridlock in Ipaja<\/p>\n

There were panic and utter pandemonium as residents and business men and women living opposite the Nigerian Army Dog Centre (NADC) almost ran amock on Sunday when Power Bike riders numbering over 30; all cladded in black dresses rode into the barracks causing fears and tredipidation.<\/p>\n

Their mission into the barracks was unknown considering that such number of riders are hardly seen within that axis in the past.<\/p>\n

A passersby who identified himself as Akinloye Aremu told our Correspondent who was within the vicinity that the bikers caused serious gridlock, blocking the entire road as they slowing rode into the barracks in procession-like manner.<\/p>\n

“Initially, I thought they were bandits who decided to dress in black as a decoy to outwit the soldiers at the gate. Even though I have seen those power bikers before, but have not seen such large number at once.<\/p>\n

“I was shocked with their dress pattern and wondered why they would be allowed into the barracks considering the security slump in the country; especially as we have been hearing or read in the papers that some Boko Haram insurgents might have sneaked into the South West.”<\/p>

As a result, investigation launched by our Correspondent revealed that the riders were at the barracks at the instance of the Acting Commandant, Nigerian Army Dog Centre, Lt Col Olasupo Sebiotimo. It was further learnt that the same barracks accommodates the Nigerian Army Resettlement Centre (NARC).<\/p>\n

Attempts to interrogate any of the bikers to know their mission in the barracks especially on a Sunday when most Army offices are not opened wasn’t possible as they came out in droves after completing their unknown mission in the barracks.<\/p>\n

However, attempt to also get in touch with any of the soldiers at the gate also failed as they were not ready to speak to anybody.<\/p>\n

When contacted, the Deputy Director Army Public Relations, 81 Division, Major Olaniyi Osoba said he wasn’t aware but would find out.<\/p>\n

When asked if such unauthorized entrance into military location doesn’t constitute security threat, he explained that “I will look into that aspect but for civilians, it is not a security threat except for the military, it suppose to be internal issue.
