\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I<\/b>f you can fight for it then you can have it. Another indefatigable spiritual wrestler we saw in the bible is the Prophet Elijah.\u00a0 The Prophet of Fire! After the battle of Mount Carmel, Elijah promptly informed King Ahab that God was bringing rain again to the land of Israel, after more three years of drought.\u00a0 The man of God immediately left to the top of Mount Carmel to pray down the rain.\u00a0 But after so many attempts still there was no rain.\u00a0 But he persisted until the seventh time and the rain came.\u00a0 For certain, he went to the top of the Mount Camel to \u2018wrestle\u2019 with God to release the rain to his people.\u00a0 Let us read from 1Kings 18:41-45,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u201cThen Elijah said to Ahab, \u2018Go and enjoy a good meal!\u00a0 For I hear a mighty rainstorm coming!\u2019\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0So Ahab prepared a feast.\u00a0 But Elijah climbed to the top of Mount Camel and fell to the ground and prayed.\u00a0<\/u>\u00a0Then he said to his servant, \u2018Go and look out toward the sea.\u2019\u00a0\u00a0The servant went and looked, but he returned to Elijah and said, \u2018I didn\u2019t see anything.\u2019 Seven times Elijah told him to go and look, and seven times he went.\u00a0 Finally the seventh time, his servant told him, \u2018I saw a little cloud about the size of a hand rising from the sea.\u2019\u00a0\u00a0Then Elijah shouted, \u2018Hurry to Ahab and tell him, climb into your chariot and go back home.\u00a0 If you don\u2019t hurry, the rain will stop you!\u2019\u00a0<\/b>And sure enough, the sky was soon black with clouds.\u00a0 A heavy wind brought a terrific rainstorm\u201d My God! Man of power! You must be ready to fight for the promises and the word of God for your life and for your people. True. Get up and fight now!<\/span><\/p>\n

There are few things I would like us to lean here from Elijah.\u00a0 First, he was fully aware of the timing of the promise of God \u2013 the rain.\u00a0 Secondly, he went to the mount to pray when others were feasting.\u00a0 Thirdly, he had the promise of God, but also knew that he must \u2018wrestle\u2019 to birth it in the physical.\u00a0 Fourth, he refused to give up until the rain came.\u00a0 Fifth, he quickly recognized the answer, even when it was like a little sign – insignificant.\u00a0 He believed God and stayed until the little turned to the mighty.\u00a0 And today, I also see your little turning into greatness! This must be the attitude anybody that wants to successfully \u2018wrestle\u2019 out God\u2019s blessings. There were also other people that \u2018wrestled\u2019 with God in prayer that space will not allow us to look here.\u00a0 These include: Daniel, Elisha, Jesus, Paul and many others.\u00a0 They at various times struggled in the spirit, wrestled in prayers to birth God\u2019s will in the physical.\u00a0 You can read up this and more from my book \/ audiobook\u00a0Power of Midnight Prayer<\/i>.\u00a0\u00a0Then another thing I will like to chip in here is that repetition of prayers is allowed at this level of spiritual warfare especially when it is done in the midnight battle.\u00a0 I often hear people say that repetition of prayer (or prayer points) means lack of faith, but that is not true.\u00a0 In wrestling with God (as in other forms of high level prayer), repetition of requests can sometimes determine the level of attention you get.\u00a0By this I don\u2019t mean recitation of doctrines, dogmas, catechism, religious and denominational beliefs. No!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I am talking about real praying and groaning in the spirit. You must keep praying until you receive answers to your requests.\u00a0 This should be the philosophy of the person that wants to get the maximum result from his\/her encounter with God.<\/p>\n

Let us see the biblical opinion on this. Jesus at Gethsemane, before His arrest, went into the olive grove in the night to pray and prepare for the ultimate price of going to the cross.\u00a0 There, the burden was so much on Him that He prayed the same prayer several times over, the same night.\u00a0 Look at Matthew 26:44, \u201cSo he went back to pray a third time, saying the same things again.\u201d Did you see that?\u00a0\u00a0He had prayed before.\u00a0 Came back and prayed on the same topic.\u00a0 And again pray for the third time on the same topic. And what was the prayer point?\u00a0\u00a0\u201cMy Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will, not mine.\u201d\u00a0 Sure, this cannot be because he had no faith, but the burden and the reality of his mission came heavily on him, that he decided to stay constantly in touch with heaven for minute-by-minute consultation. Like I have said, the actual battle was fought and won here at Gethsemane and it was in the midnight.\u00a0\u00a0Also see when he healed the blind man in Mark 8:22-25.\u00a0 He repeated the exercise before the man fully regained his sight. Can we read it?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u201cWhen they arrived at Bethsaida, some people brought a blind man to Jesus, and they begged him to touch and heal the man.\u00a0 Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village.\u00a0 Then, spitting on the man\u2019s eyes, he laid his hands on him and asked, \u2018can you see anything now?\u2019\u00a0\u00a0The man looked around.\u00a0 \u2018Yes,\u2019 he said, \u2018I see people, but I can\u2019t see them very clearly.\u00a0 They look like trees walking around.\u2019\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Then Jesus placed his hands over the man\u2019s eyes again.\u00a0\u00a0As the man stared intently, his sight was completely restored, and he could see everything clearly.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Now, if Jesus could do it again and again, I believe we cannot be greater than our master (as he said). Let\u2019s always continue until we receive our desired result.\u00a0 Do it again and again and again. Pray, fight, wrestle until you get it done!<\/span><\/p>

Also when he was teaching the principle of effective prayer, he encouraged us to keep on asking, seeking and knocking until we receive what we are praying for.\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u201cKeep on asking, and you will be given what you ask for.\u00a0 Keep on looking, and you will find.\u00a0 Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened.\u00a0 For everyone who asks, receives.\u00a0 Everyone who seeks finds.\u00a0 And the door is opened to everyone who knocks.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>Matthew 7:7-8. Did you notice that continues verbs were used in the above passage?\u00a0 This simply means that you have to keep doing it until you see the desired result.\u00a0 It is a divine principle.\u00a0 Even the dark kingdom understands this too.\u00a0 That\u2019s why they hardly give up on their targets.\u00a0\u00a0We have earlier cited the Elijah example at Mount Carmel.\u00a0 He kept repeating the prayers, until the rain came at the seventh attempt.\u00a0 In fact, he was prepared to go even beyond the seventh if he needed to; because he was sure that he had heard the sound of abundance of rain in the spirit.\u00a0 So don\u2019t be afraid to repeat your prayers on the same issue.\u00a0 Don\u2019t be discouraged if you have not seen the physical manifestation of the answer.\u00a0 Just push on until it happens!
