What would have been another black Sunday was avoided as men of the Fire Brigade fought relentlessly to extinguish huge fire that engulfed a filling station at Aguleri in Anambra as a truck loaded with DPK (kerosene) went up in flames.<\/p>\n

However, no casualty was recorded.<\/p>\n

The Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra state Command, CSP Haruna Mohammed who confirmed the incident on Sunday said on the 21st February, 2021 about 3pm, there was a fire outbreak at Daymaker Filling Station, Aguleri roundabout in Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State.<\/p>\n

The fire allegedly emanated from the tanker laden with DPK (Kerosene) inside the filling station while discharging its content.<\/p>\n

As a result, the truck was gutted by fire which razed down part of the filling station.<\/p>

Police operatives led by DPO Otoucha Division, CSP Etah Baba and other sister Security Agencies quickly mobilised to the scene and cordoned off the Area to prevent looting and further catastrophe.<\/p>\n

Also, the fire service was equally contacted and they responded promptly hence there was no loss of life and nobody was injuried.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, investigation is ongoing to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident.<\/p>\n

At the moment, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Monday Bala Markus, has appealed to filling station owners to always apply safety precautions while offloading fuel in order to avert similar ugly incidents which could also lead to loss of lives and injuries especially during this harmattan period.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
