{"id":46241,"date":"2021-01-20T19:38:37","date_gmt":"2021-01-20T18:38:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/?p=46241"},"modified":"2021-01-20T19:38:37","modified_gmt":"2021-01-20T18:38:37","slug":"human-trafficking-ngo-trains-enforcement-officers-judges-on-investigation-prosecution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/sub\/human-trafficking-ngo-trains-enforcement-officers-judges-on-investigation-prosecution\/","title":{"rendered":"Human Trafficking: NGO Trains Enforcement Officers, Judges On Investigation, Prosecution"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\">The Pathfinder Justice Initiative (PJI) is organising a two -day training for law enforcement officers, prosecutors and Judges on investigation of trafficked victims and prosecution of human traffickers in the country.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">The workshop is funded by INSighT- Building Capacity to Deal with Human Trafficking and Transit Routes to Nigeria, Italy and Sweden.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Speaking on the first day of the training held in Benin on Tuesday, Evon Benson-Idahosa, Executive Director, PJI, said the training was to improve collaboration among agencies tackling human trafficking cases.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">She said the training focused on proper investigation and identification of persons that had been a victim of trafficking as well as prosecution of traffickers.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;We want to encourage networking and connection among agencies involved in tackling human trafficking so they can achieve better results.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;The training is also about what is a successful investigation? What are we not utilising as regards successful investigation?<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;What is the law on trafficking?
