Police in\u00a0 Niger State, .has said\u00a0 that no fewer than 2,219\u00a0 Officers and Men were promoted to the next ranks on merit in the year 2020 in the State.<\/p>\n

The State Commissioner of Police, Mr.\u00a0 Adamu Usman stated\u00a0 this\u00a0 during the decoration ceremony of recently promoted 10 Police\u00a0 Officers and\u00a0 presentation\u00a0 of Awards at the Police Officers Mess, Minna.<\/p>\n

According to him, ” in the last 12 months, a total of 2,219 Officers and Men of the Command were promoted on merit. And this comprises\u00a0 \u00a0of one CSP to ACP, 21 SP to CSP, 5 DSP to SP, 4 ASP to DSP, 282 Inspectors to ASPs, 1,120 Sergeants to Inspectors and 521 Corporals to Sergeants and 264 Constables to Corporals”.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the 10 newly promoted officers, Usman explained that their promotion was based on the principle of seniority and merit as well as a reflective of their record of discipline and invaluable experience.<\/p>\n

He charged\u00a0 the Officers\u00a0 to use their wealth of experience in achieving the mandate of the Police in the face of the current internal security challenges bedevilling\u00a0 the State.<\/p>

” Be civil to citizens and be guided by the rule of law. In addition, you must demonstrate sound professional judgement in all decisions, knowing that you could be called to account for your actions or inactions, ” the CP, remarks.<\/p>\n

Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Assistant Commissioner of Police, (ACP) Yahaya Isah, who was promoted from the position of Chief Supretandant of Police, CSP)\u00a0 expressed appreciation to the Police Service Commission( PSC)\u00a0 for the promotion.<\/p>\n

He also thanked the State Commissioner of Police for recommending them for the promotion.<\/p>\n
