The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mohammadu Buhari and other security managers in the country, have been told to immediately begin a re-evaluation and sincere appraisal of the security architecture in the country.<\/p>\n

The Primate, Most Rev Michael Olushina Fape, the Bishop of Remo and Archibishop of Lagos Province said on Sunday while reacting to the adoption of students by gunmen who stormed the Government Science Secondary School in Kankara district in Katsina State at the weekend, that the security of our nation requires God intervention to save the nation from doom.<\/p>\n

Speaking to our correspondent during the SendOff Service for the former Director, Chaplain Services (Protestant) Nigerian Army, Col (Rev) Bande Kauche held at the All Saints’ (AHQ) Cathedral, Albalti Barracks, Surulere-Lagos, noted that sincere appraisal and reevaluation is urgently needed for the right people to do the right to enable people to sleep with their two eyes closed.<\/p>\n

“The issue of the adoption is no longer news. It seems the arm of flesh may be failing, but those who have been saddled with the responsibility of making sure that lives are safe should be up and doing. But as we are in our country today, there is insecurity in the country.”<\/p>\n

Harping on stewardship and accountability in the vineyard of the Lord service, he lambasted the administrators of the country, calling on our leaders to be responsive and accountable to the people they govern.<\/p>\n

“When we talk about stewardship, it is about accountability. You have been given the opportunity to serve and it is incumbent on you to know that one day, account will be required of all that you have done with the gift reposed on you.<\/p>\n

“The major message is that, we are all given the opportunity of service, but we must use the gift God has given us to serve him and humanity in such a way that we add value to the lives of those around us.<\/p>\n

“Otherwise, when account is required of us if we have not done anything, we would have ourselves to blame. Accountability goes with stewardship. Therefore, you must serve in such a way that God will not regret given you the opportunity to serve in his vineyard and the people of your country.”<\/p>\n

The occasion which also featured the grand reception of Col (VEN) MA Abolanle, the acting Director, Chaplain Services coupled with his installation as the Acting Director, Chaplain Services, on his official seat in the Cathedral by the Primate, Col (Ven) Abolanle said life was too trancient for anyone to tarry.<\/p>\n

He implored Nigerians to see themselves as managers who should responsibly pilot the affairs of humanity well with a view to achieving result at the end of his sojourn.<\/p>

“We are all managers but how well we carry out that responsibility is what matters. Manage both human and material resources very well and do everything possible to re-examine yourself and give good account as a manager.<\/p>\n

Col Abolanle reiterated that when he was appointed on the 14th December, 2019, his vision was how to turn around the Chaplaincy Services adding that he wouldn’t relent at achieving that purpose.<\/p>\n

In his sermon titled: “The Manager,” the President of Evangelical Church for West Africa (ECWA), Rev Stephen Panya Baba emphasized that everyone that is saddled with the responsibility of managing people should do so responsibly and professionally.<\/p>\n

He enjoins such individuals to have the understanding that that there are so many responsibilities assigned and it behoves on the manager to work assiduously to earn the satisfaction of the master which is dependent on fulfilling his roles.<\/p>\n

While basing his sermon on the tripod of 3F – “Forthrightness, Faithfulness and Fruitfulness,” the ECWA President who was represented by Rev Abel Asuibaro called on all potential managers to be active and plan in carrying out responsibilities noting that a manager should be selfless in carrying out his task while minimising undue criticism.<\/p>\n

He called on public servants to act responsibly so that during retirement, they would have the course to be appreciated.<\/p>\n

Asuibaro, therefore, challenged managers to make the best use of office because “age can retire us, tenure of office and life can also retire us but God expects you to be a good, obedient servant.<\/p>\n

“Be faithful and loyal. This loyalty is to your God and the people you are leading or serving but not to yourself. The application of wisdom is faithfulness, which is a test of integrity and fruitfulness comes because of good strategy,” he emphasized.<\/p>\n

In his vote of thanks, the former Director, Col (Rev) Kauche who has been retired after 35 years of meritorious service, congratulated all his retired colleagues and wished them a better life in the civil society.<\/p>\n

Highpoint of the ceremony was the handing over of the former Director, Col Kauche (retd) to the ECWA President for future responsibilities within the vineyard of the Lord and songs were rendered by women groups in the church in different local languages as a mark of respect to the outgone Director.<\/p>\n

Other retired Chaplain officers included: Majors (Very Rev) UN Audu; Ven. JO Jolayemi; Ven. H Ugwu and Rev. A Mohammed.<\/p>\n

It would be recalled that Col (Rev) Kauche was the Director, Chaplain Services from 1 January 2019 to 31 December, 2019 when he achieved retirement years from the Nigerian Army.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
